Lloyds Bank has strengthened its global transaction banking business in the South West by appointing Mark Parsons as regional head of its new trade and working capital team.

Mark, pictured, who previously headed Lloyds Bank Commercial Finance’s mid markets division in the South West, will be responsible for providing a range of working capital packages for the region’s mid-sized businesses.

The move is part of the bank’s strategy to grow its global transaction banking business, which handles payments, liquidity management, working capital and short-term financing for business clients, as well as core banking services to help clients grow, both domestically and internationally, through trade finance, cash management, invoice and asset finance.

Mark, who will also cover the Midlands, said: “This is all about ensuring we are putting our clients here in the South West first in everything we do.

“Clients want to know that the people they are dealing with are local product specialists, but they also need to know that the solution being delivered is the best possible combination of those products for the unique challenges they face.

“As we get to know and understand our clients even more, we are better placed to identify the challenges they face and deliver the right expertise and products to solve them.”

Headed by mid markets managing director Kash Ahmad, the trade and working capital team will use the bank’s existing specialist expertise in trade finance and commercial finance to provide working capital to help businesses prosper.
