Bristol-based construction group Midas has appointed Jerry Williams as its new operational director for its Wessex and Wales division.

Jerry is an experienced construction and civil engineering professional who in his new role is taking the lead in managing project delivery across what is a key regional division for the group.

Jerry began his career as an undergraduate civil engineer with housebuilder Taylor Woodrow, eventually becoming production director working in the residential and mixed-use sector.

He has worked in a diverse range of roles in the industry, including as education framework director at construction group Costain and also completing a series of major schemes for Vinci Construction.

Jerry said: “I am very pleased to be here at Midas Construction and one of my first priorities has been meeting the team and getting up to speed on current and upcoming projects across Wessex, Wales and the West Midlands.

“Midas is a successful business and, for me, it is about building on that for the future. There is a great ethos within the company, particularly in terms of our emphasis on delivery excellence, customer service and long-term relationships.

“I am fortunate to be working alongside an excellent group of operational managers and look forward to working closely with them as we take the business forward.”

Midas Construction executive director Derek Quinn said: “We are delighted to welcome Jerry to the team. His appointment is an important one for the Wessex and Wales division and his experience and expertise will be a significant asset to us and the wider company.”

Midas employs more than 500 people and operates across the South of England, Wales and the Midlands. It is one of the UK’s largest independent construction and property services groups providing services in construction, residential, maintenance and development.
