Bristol-headquartered communications agency Antidote has appointed Faye Lockier as its new managing director as it approaches its 10th anniversary.

Faye, pictured, replaces Alex Neale, who moves into the newly created role of client director as part of a strategic repositioning exercise as the agency looks to continue the growth it has achieved since its launch.

Faye has joined Antidote from Ultraleap, the Bristol-based global tech firm specialising in pioneering hand tracking and mid-air haptics.

At Ultraleap she led the communications team for four-and-a-half years, developing and delivering its strategic vision through acquisitions, funding rounds and product announcements.

She will now play a pivotal role in Antidote’s leadership team, driving the agency’s market position as well as managing day-to-day operations and team growth.

Antidote, which also has an office in London, has a focus on working with businesses operating in the digital economy through campaigns that connect ideas with people, via the use of data.

Its clients include international drinks group Veuve Clicquot, global management consultancy McKinsey’s digital, design and AI division, and the Royal Academy of Engineering.

Antidote founder and CEO Becca Williams said she launched the agency with a single vision in mind – “to create an agency that genuinely didn’t buy in to the ‘PR fluff’ but understood the power of data to deliver communications that could positively impact the bottom line of a business”.

She added: “That pragmatic approach remains core to the way we think and work today. At our heart, we are analysts and technologists, exactly as many of our clients are.

“It’s how we are able to get to the nub of the challenges our clients wish to tackle. It’s how we have delivered great work and grown, even in the face of a global pandemic.

“Faye’s own approach – as seen through her work at Ultraleap – mirrors ours exactly and is the right person to help lead the company in our next phase, as we look to scale. I am excited to have her onboard.”

Faye said she was drawn to Antidote by the combination of its data-led approach, team and clients.

“It was clear that they all truly believe that using data can elevate communications into a core business function that can have a profound impact on a business,” she added. “A view I wholeheartedly agree with.”
