Telecoms and IT firm Pure Comms has formed a new board of directors following a number of internal changes and a high-profile appointment.

CEO Rob Vivian heads the board, which also includes non-executive chairman Julian Telling, finance director Richard Corser and technical director Harry Bishop.

Also joining the board is ex-college and local authority director Jane Vivian, who has taken control of Pure Comms’ marketing and business development as director of business growth – a role in which she will have influence over the company’s commercial decisions and strategic direction.

Pure Comms has been in business for nearly seven years and has offices near Clevedon and in St Austell, Cornwall, which recently celebrated its first year of successful trading.

A sector specialist, the business works with a number of high-profile clients including Bristol Airport, Co-op Group, Opus, Computerworld and Redrock Consulting, as well as a large number of SMEs across the South West.

Rob Vivian said: “We’ve grown rapidly since our inception in November 2009 and having an experienced and capable steering group will ensure we continue to grow, as well as provide the added-value service which our customer’s benefit from.”

Pure Comms has also put in place a new management structure that will help alleviate some of the time constraints the CEO and board of directors are experiencing, enabling them to concentrate on some of the larger contracts, projects and identified areas of growth.

Rob added: “We have identified a team of individuals with the skills, attributes and knowledge to help take forward the process developments within the business, whilst at the same time advancing their own careers at Pure Comms.

“Every one of them will play a pivotal role in the ongoing development of these processes, ensuring we are best placed to respond to further business expansion.”

Jane Vivian, who is married to Rob, spent two years at Weston College and was previously principal economic development officer at North Somerset Council, where she played a pivotal role in the launch of its ‘In North Somerset’ brand as well as helping to establish the area as a successful business destination.
