Wealth management and corporate and institutional broking firm WHIreland has made two key appointments in Bristol as it continues to build its team in the city.

Chris Savidge joins as a corporate finance executive and Joe Harker as an investment manager on the wealth management side.

Chris arrives from ‘big four’ accountancy firm EY’s Bristol office, where he worked for four years – initially in assurance services and more recently in the corporate finance department.

He will work closely with the experienced Bristol team of Mike Coe and Ed Allsopp and joins following a busy year of transactions led out of the office, including a £1.3m placing and open offer for Manchester-based mobile computing devices manufacturer Touchstar, completion of the partial offer for Plymouth property developer Sutton Harbour and, more recently, a £4m placing for learning and skills firm Malvern International.

Chris has been brought in to assist the wider corporate and institutional broking division and will provide support on corporate transactions – both equity capital markets and private – in addition to working with the existing client base.

Joe Harker joins after two years as a trainee investment manager in the Bristol office of JM Finn. He will help manage and advise assets for individuals, charities and corporates under the leadership of Bristol office head Nick Lamb.

Chris and Joe’s arrivals bring staffing levels in the Bristol office team to nine in total, including three employees responsible for its corporate and institutional broking activities in the region.

Nick said: “We are pleased to welcome both Chris and Joe to WHIreland and specifically to the Bristol office. The growth in demand for our services in both corporate finance and wealth management in this region continues and these recent appointments and the refit of the offices demonstrate WHIreland’s commitment to our clients and the area.

“We anticipate further announcements over the coming months as we continue to recruit talented individuals to meet the continuing demand for our services.”

WHIreland, which has been listed on the London Stock Exchange’s AIM market since 2000, offers private wealth management and corporate broking services.  It also has offices in London, Lees, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Cardiff, Poole and the Isle of Man.
