Bristol integrated services group Mobius Works has launched a new branch of the business to specialise in larger projects as main contractor.

Mobius Construct, which will operate across the south of England, will allow the group to deliver projects valued at £400,000-plus, including building, construction, refurbishment, interiors and fit-out, as well as being able to offer ongoing maintenance and facilities management via Mobius Works.

It will operate across a variety of sectors spanning design and build, commercial, residential, leisure, retail, health, defence, workplace and education as well as the public sector.

Mobius Construct will be headed by managing director Tim Stringer, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the construction industry, having worked in senior roles with companies such as Pearce Group, Integral UK and Tetris UK. Tim most recently has been working as a consultant to Mobius overseeing all major projects.

He will be joined by divisional director Carly Willis, former chair of Women in Property (WiP) South West and incoming chair of Interact Bristol. Carly, who has a background in project management and quantity surveying, specialises in delivering high-end commercial projects.

Warmley-based Mobius Works has been behind many of the city’s most exciting drinking, dining and working spaces since being launched three years ago by Lee Bignell with just three staff. Today it employs around 50 and is targeting a turnover of £20m within the next three to five years.

Tim Stringer said: “Having worked with Lee and the team at Mobius on a consultancy basis for some time, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of Mobius Construct; a new step which will allow the company to grow ever faster than it already has over the past few years.

“We feel that our combined years of experience and expertise will allow us to offer the very best in service delivery and go above and beyond our clients’ expectations through proactive and innovative solutions.”

Lee Bignell said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Tim and Carly to the team to lead the charge on Mobius Construct.

“Being able to pitch for larger projects is a huge step for Mobius, and we can’t wait to see how the business grows with their addition over the coming months and years.”
