Bristol-based property developer Cubex has made another key appointment to its team as it looks to drive ahead with more logistics, residential and mixed-use developments across the South West and in Wales.

The firm, best known for its Finzels Reach regeneration project in Bristol, has recruited Tom Lewis to the role of development manager.

Before joining Cubex, Tom, pictured, worked in consultancy and client-side roles as a project manager and development manager.

He brings experience spanning a range of sectors having handled office, retail, leisure and residential schemes of varying size and complexity.

At Cubex he joins fellow development manager Sarah Trahair-Williams in leading on external pre-construction and construction for future projects.

The firm, which has been developing and investing in property in the South West and South Wales since 2004, has more than 300 residential units in development, alongside 116,000 sq ft of office space and has a further 400,000 sq ft of logistics space in the pipeline.

It is currently developing the second phase of Finzels Reach, pictured below, including a 231-home build-to-rent scheme and a separate 66-affordable home project, as well as Halo, a landmark, sustainable 116,000 sq ft office building, two thirds of which is already pre-let to law firm Osborne Clarke.

Meanwhile, with its funder Fiera Real Estate, the UK and Canadian investment management company, it recently announced the acquisition of a 12-acre site next to the M5 near Highbridge, Somerset, with plans to secure planning permission and speculatively build a grade A 160,000 sq ft logistics unit.

Cubex managing director Peter Walford said: We are delighted to welcome Tom to our ever-growing team. 2021 was a hugely successful year for the business and we look forward to having Tom on board to help us continue to grow our development pipeline in 2022.”

Tom added: I am very much looking forward to working with the team to grow Cubexs delivery capabilities and help the business achieve its goals in the coming years.”

Tom’s appointment follows the recent promotion of Joe Downey to director and shareholder at Cubex, having joined the team last year.
