New dean and head of Bristol Law School recruited by UWE Bristol

UWE Bristol has appointed Dr Konstantinos (Kos) Siliafis as the new dean and head of Bristol Law School.

Kos, pictured, was previously director of Law and Politics at Canterbury Christ Church University. 

He has also lectured law at Aberystwyth University, where he gained a Doctorate in Philosophy and Law in 2015.

His research focuses on relationships between law and technology, particularly within online spaces, space exploration, and with new technologies such as AI and cryptocurrency.

Kos said: “I feel very privileged to join a team of accomplished academics and practitioners at UWE Bristol.

“The Law School has a fantastic reputation as a vibrant driving force in the future of our students, the city, and beyond, and it is incredibly exciting to be given the opportunity to help shape its trajectory.”

Pro vice-chancellor and head of the College of Business and Law at UWE Bristol, Prof Yvonne Beach, added: “I am delighted to welcome Dr Kos Siliafis to UWE Bristol as the new dean and head of the Bristol Law School.

“His skills and expertise are an asset to the senior leadership team of the College of Business and Law as we continue deliver our ambitious strategy.”

The University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), which has around 36,000 students, is ranked 43rd out of 122 institutions in The Guardian university league table
