Four experienced Bristol creative executives have launched their own full-service creative marketing agency in the city with a client roster that includes global games brands Hasbro and Pokémon.

Phil Marshall, Andrew Woolnough, Michelle Matthews and Dawn Wilson – all formerly of Bristol and London agency Oakwood – described their new business Mischievous Wolf as bold, fearless and irreverent.

Mischievous Wolf launches with a team of 11 as a globally focused brand and communications agency supporting a roster of clients in the consumer products, entertainment, and charitable sectors.

Its launch clients also include shed and outdoor furniture manufacturer Keter, and Perfetti Van Melle, the Italian-Dutch confectionery and gum multinational.

The Mischievous Wolf team said it was “taking a bold new direction for a full-service creative agency with award-winning executions for top brands in the kids and family CPG [consumer packaged goods] space”.

Among the teams’ recent credited award wins are two Muse Awards and three Summit Awards for Creativity, Marketing Effectiveness and Emerging Media.

To complement its Bristol-based executive, Mischievous Wolf has also made a key hire in the US.

Los Angeles-based entertainment marketer Brian Klotz joins after stints leading communications teams in video game publishing and streaming, and having spent nearly 15 years with The Walt Disney Company spearheading media relations and talent relations for Marvel’s interconnected universe of television series.

As Mischievous Wolf’s North America managing director he will be responsible for driving stateside client acquisition and growth from the agency’s existing client base in the consumer products and entertainment sectors.

Phil Marshall, who has the job title of head of mischief, said: “In this exciting new chapter, we are all united by a singular goal of producing fearless creativity fused with strategic thinking.

“Our mission is to reshape perspectives, unlock untapped potential and deliver a strong return on investment.

“All this magic is done by being collaborative, having a sense of humour and by being planet-friendly.”

Mischievous Wolf chief imagination officer Andrew Woolnough added: “We’re leading a charge to make a difference and unlock passions in the family, entertainment, and lifestyle sectors.

“Bold, fresh ideas drive the creativity in these industries from top to bottom, and we can’t wait to play our part in that whilst making a little creative mischief along the way.”
