National property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has made a key senior appointment in Bristol as it looks to expand its industrial and logistics operations in the South West.

Brett Casswell, pictured, joins as associate director to manage the industrial and logistics division, with development support for investors.

Brett, who has 13 years’ commercial property experience, previously worked as a general practice surveyor at the consultancy in Northampton for three years. More recently he was development surveyor for Devon-based London and Devonshire Trust.

He said: “It is an exciting time for the industrial sector in the South West, which saw a 36% increase in take-up last year compared to 2013.

“There is a real squeeze on Grade A space and availability in this part of the UK, which is driving demand from occupiers who want to move here or expand their operations and take advantage of the excellent road networks.

“It is clear that 2015 is already proving to be extraordinarily dynamic and the economy is very strong here, so I am very pleased to return to LSH to manage a division that is growing and making a real impact on the commercial property market.”

Head of LSH’s Bristol office, Darren Sheward, added: “Brett’s in-depth knowledge of the industrial and logistics sector is a welcome addition to the growing team which will drive further our work in industrial leasing and sales, investments and development.”
