Recruitment group Alexander Daniels, which has an office in Bristol, has bolstered its education division with the appointment of two new team members.

Experienced recruiter Steve Underwood has joined to head its education team as divisional manager. He has more than 15 years’ experience in the industry, most recently as head of recruitment at a large further education (FE) college.

Joining Steve is Caroline Garnett, who has operated at a senior level for more than eight years, latterly as regional manager for a national education agency.

Alexander Daniels Education supports and works in partnership with colleges and FE providers, supplying interim, visiting and sessional staff across curriculum, senior management and business support.

Steve said: “Having managed recruitment onsite with a college environment, Caroline and I understand the ever-changing demands on teaching and learning staff at all levels and the importance this has on the impact of the learners.

“Apprenticeships are now at the top of the Government’s agenda and there is a severe skills shortage, particularly in STEM subjects, which is also impacted by a shortage of lecturers and assessors. This is why AD Education works in partnership with colleges and training providers to support resource gaps.”

Alexander Daniels director Nick Pearce added: “Alexander Daniels continues to expand and we are delighted to welcome Steve and Caroline to the team.

“As with our other divisions, our education team is staffed exclusively by people with a track record in the sector who possess an intimate knowledge of both the current trends within it and the challenges it faces.”

Birmingham-based Alexander Daniels opened its Bristol office three years ago.
