Bristol accountancy practice Evans & Partners is celebrating after winning the title of Overall Firm of the Year 2013 at the national 2020 Innovation Awards for Accountants.

The firm beat 500 firms from across the UK to collect the prestigious award, which recognises “brilliant client service, an innovative approach and excellent success winning new clients”.

Managing partner Olly Evans, the third generation of the Evans family to run the firm, said winning the award was largely due to its exceptional client service and innovative accounting solutions, such as online accounting.

“We have worked hard to stand out from other accountants where poor service and high prices are often the norm,” he said.

“We have focussed on delivering great service for a great price.  We know that we get this right because on average clients score us 9.3/10 for service and 8/10 for value for money.”

He said innovation had been driven through using cloud technology that allows the firm to be much closer to its clients, giving day-to-day support.

“A great example of this is online accounting tool www.xero.com.  We see more and more clients thriving as the recession recedes and needing input and support from us, often acting as ‘finance director for a day’,” he said.

“Our success is breeding success bringing a constant stream of new clients, a steady 10% growth and recruiting new staff.

“My grandfather would have been proud to see his firm win this prestigious award, against 500 other firms from all over the country.”
