A specialist conveyancing, wills and probate law firm with an office in Bristol has changed its name.

Hoffman Male, which has its headquarters in Swindon, has become Hoffman Briggs to reflect the names of its partners Mary Hoffman and Yvette Briggs.

The firm was set up in 1979 by Roger Male. Mary joined in 2005 and became a partner two years later. Yvette arrived in 2013 as a partner and set up the Bristol office at Aztec West.

Roger stepped down as a partner last year and initially he remained as an associate. However, he has now retired and moved with his family to the Southampton area.

Mary, pictured below, said: “We decided that the time was right for a change of name to reflect that fact that Yvette and I run the business together.

“The business is thriving. We have two great teams in Swindon and Bristol and Yvette has done a fantastic job in setting up the Bristol office.”

Yvette, who until recently has been known professionally by her maiden name of Morcombe, said: “The new name is all part of our vision for the business. Bristol and Swindon and going really well, and we may expand further at some stage in the future.”

Mary added: “The name may be new, but nothing else has changed. We will continue to provide the same level of excellent service our clients have come to expect, acting as specialists in our field of conveyancing, wills and probate.”

The firm is recruiting for both offices to support a growing workload.
