Creative Business News regularly gives a prominent member of the region’s creative sector the chance to reflect on their career, their work and their ambitions by answering 10 questions about themselves.

Name: Kevin Haynes

Job title: Director

Current company: Commstar Ltd

Age: 53

My big break: Landing the role within the events department at MPG (Michel Peters Group) to launch the Vauxhall Astra.

My first job: Working for Hedges Wright – a film production business.

My current role: Director at Commstar Ltd, based in South Gloucestershire.

My typical day: Phone pings at 8am (client calls and messages). No day is the same – it will involve some or all marketing, video production, social campaigns. My week includes plenty of driving to and from events and talking to clients about their campaigns.

My proudest moment/project: Winning my first car website brief for Kia.co.uk

My best piece of advice: Listen, listen then listen again!

My ambition (that I haven’t yet achieved): To get through my to do list each day!

My favourite creative work/campaign (that I haven’t worked on): Aviva TV commercials with Paul Whitehouse – awesome creative!

My predictions for the creative sector: Young creatives will take over with more energy to the sector and a more agile approach to client work.

My inspiration: My son and daughter. Lucas is a rising star film maker and Issy is a fashion design student.
