Armadillo, the Bristol-based customer relationship marketing (CRM) agency, has extended its expertise by launching an in-house marketing team.

The agency, which works with blue-chip clients such as McDonald’s, P&O Cruises, Cunard and Disney, has taken on three new hires – Sophy Wells and Jacqueline Reardon as marketing managers, and Carolyn Carswell as a conceptual copywriter.

Sophy joins from Bristol-based agency Prophecy, where she worked as marketing manager. Carolyn also arrives from Prophecy after two years there as a copywriter for brands including Costa Coffee, Aptamil and Cow & Gate.

Jacqueline returns to Armadillo after maternity leave. Prior to this, she held position of account director across its clients Disney and hotels.com.

Since Armadillo’s management buy-out in February last year, Armadillo has grown by 20% year on year, welcoming new clients including P&O Cruises and Cunard, as well as winning a DMA for its work with McDonald’s.

Digital experience director Rob Pellow, who joined Armadillo mid-2018 to spearhead its creative offering, said: “We already had an incredible design and development offering, what we needed was to elevate our conceptual thinking. Carolyn, Jacqueline and Sophy have added this in spades, meaning that we now have a creative team any agency in the world would be proud of.”

He said the new marketing team would be invaluable to Armadillo as it enters its busiest year yet as it faces growing demand from new and existing clients.

Sophy added: “I was drawn to the role because I could sense the ambition of the agency, where it wants to get to and how we can help it get there. It’s a great opportunity to be able to develop the agency’s strategic approach to marketing that will enable us to deliver some pretty ambitious but achievable growth targets.”

Jacqueline said she was excited to be back in a new role. “I know how great our clients are and how driven and innovative everyone at Armadillo is, so our job is to make sure we’re sharing that,” she said. “We’ve a clear vision and we’re already gaining real momentum.”
