Annual revenues at national law firm Clarke Willmott have grown by just over 8% to £46.7m, it announced this week at the same time as re-electing Stephen Rosser as chief executive officer for a further four years.

The firm, which has seven offices including one in Bristol, said its revenues had increased by an average of 9% over the past five years while its equity profit last year soared by 25% to £6.5m.

Mr Rosser, pictured, who was first elected to the CEO post in 2010, said it was a “very exciting time” for the firm, which recently located its Manchester and London bases.

“What is really pleasing [about the financial results] is that this is almost exclusively organic growth. As a result of our diverse business, we are well-positioned to continue this, and I look forward to leading the firm as we push forward in accordance with our strategic plan.

“It is especially exciting to see recent progress as we embark on a new phase for the London and Manchester offices in new premises and with additional, high-quality teams having joined the firm.”

Prior to taking up the CEO role, Mr Rosser worked in the firm’s commercial property division, specialising in regeneration, development and funding. He is ranked in the legal sector directories Legal 500 and Chambers Band 1 for Real Estate.

This will be his third, four-year term as CEO. His latest re-election, which takes effect from next year, was brought forward as the firm is part-way through the successful implementation of a strategic growth plan that runs until 2021. Members wanted to give Stephen the backing now to continue this, given investment that will be required.

Clarke Willmott chairman Jonathan Morton said: “Stephen became CEO in 2010 at a time when the firm faced challenges as a result of the 2008/9 financial crisis.

“Since then he, with the support of an excellent team, has overseen the development of the firm to the position that it is in today – a position that sees us enjoying a long and sustained period of growth.

“It is great news that he will now have the opportunity to oversee the next phase of the firm’s development.”

Clarke Willmott also has offices in Birmingham, Cardiff, Southampton and Taunton.
