Bristol communications agency Purplefish is celebrating winning six new clients so far this year – with its growth about to trigger an increase in its workforce.

The agency, which is based in Bristol’s Paintworks media hub and specialises in the tech, hospitality, and property sectors, is providing range of services to its new clients including public relations, marketing communications, personal branding, and employee culture consultancy.

Three new recruits will join Purplefish next month, taking its staffing to 13 – the highest since it was launched 10 years ago by managing director Joanna Randall.

Among the brands joining the Purplefish client roster are Service Robotics, the Bristol-based firm behind the GenieConnect companion robot, which has been designed to help vulnerable and older adults to continue to live independently at home by supporting with routine tasks and combatting loneliness.

It is also working with Swindon-based Kerr Office Group, one of the UK’s top office interior specialists providing first-rate design, fit-out and consultancy services for clients across the UK, Bishop’s Eye, an independent bistro-chic wine bar in Wells, and the Revel Pucks circus, which it supported during its successful Bristol tour dates over Easter.

Earlier this year Purplefish was also awarded B Corporation status, joining a growing number of Bristol firms accredited by the international movement that promotes business as a force for good.

It also appointed employer experience and brand expert Lucy McKerron, pictured, right with Joanna Randall, as associate director to head a new division focusing on employee experience communications.

Joanna Randall said: “We’re delighted with the first half of 2022, having secured some interesting projects with great brands, as well as obtaining our B Corp certification, a long-held ambition and testament to our commitment to run Purplefish as a purpose-led business.

“Providing a competitive edge and sharing brand stories to prospective buyers and clients is our forte and we’re incredibly excited to be working with recognised businesses across all our specialisms.”
