Law firm Michelmores has appointed Tom Hyde as a partner in its national agricultural team based in its Bristol office.

Tom, a qualified rural chartered surveyor, joins from Clarke Willmott and takes the number of partners at Michelmores to 53.

He is recognised by the Chambers legal directory for his ‘excellent knowledge’ and his expertise includes non-contentious, agricultural and rural property issues in relation to estate, farm, country house, land and forestry sales and purchases, landlord and tenant, joint venture farming arrangements, renewable options and leases, sporting agreements and re-mortgaging agreements.

Tom’s arrival is the latest in a series of lateral hires to the Bristol office, which have included the nationally-renowned four partner agricultural team from Wilsons and Sandra Brown, formerly head of the private client team at Osborne Clarke.

Head of Michelmores’ agricultural team Peter Williams said: “Tom is a highly-respected practitioner and we very much look forward to him joining the team.”

Michelmores’ managing partner Malcolm Dickinson added: Tom’s arrival confirms our ability to attract the best talent and rapidly build a market-leading team. We will continue to grow our business in Bristol across other practice areas and sectors.”

Michelmores opened its Bristol office last November through the acquisition of Wilsons’ base in the city. The firm is headquartered in Exeter with an office in London.
