Staff in the Bristol office of regional law firm Michelmores have chosen Above & Beyond, which raises money for hospitals in the city, as their charity of the year.

The team already has a number of fundraising events in the pipeline, including quizzes, sweepstakes and dress-down days.

Founded in 1974, Above & Beyond raises around £3m for Bristol’s eight city centre hospitals and South Bristol Community Hospital to make a real difference to patient care and hospital experience; creating welcoming environments, providing the latest equipment, supporting staff training and development, and funding innovative research.

Michelmores Bristol office CSR partner Paul Beanlands said: “It is a priority for us as a firm that we actively engage and support the communities where we live and work. We are delighted to be supporting such a fantastic charity.

“We are looking forward to some exciting fundraising activities this year and are committed to raising a significant amount of money for the organisation as the work they are doing is invaluable.”

Above & Beyond corporate partnerships fundraising officer Gemma Jenkins added: “I’d like to say thank you to the team at Michelmores in Bristol for choosing Above & Beyond as their charity of the year.

“I’m looking forward to working with them to help them raise as much as possible for Bristol’s hospitals.

“It’s only thanks to the support of businesses like this that we can continue to support the NHS to deliver the best possible patient care.”

Michelmores, which also has bases in London and Exeter, opened its Bristol office in 2012 to offer legal services across a range of sectors, including real estate, construction, agriculture, corporate and private wealth.

The team now includes 20 partners and more than 50 specialist lawyers.
