Ranked in Tier 1 (South West) by respected directory Legal 500, the team operates across Michelmore’s offices in Bristol, London and Exeter.

Daniel, pictured, will also work closely with Michelmores’ private wealth team to support clients, families, entrepreneurs and privately-owned businesses across a variety of sectors both nationally and internationally.

He regularly advises on divorce proceedings with cross-border elements, including asset protection for high net worth clients, the resolution of financial disputes within married and cohabiting partnerships, and cases involving businesses and trusts.

His cases have involved foreign nationals in the UK and expats and foreign assets across the EU, US, Australasia, Far East and the Middle East.

He is also highly experienced at advising on jurisdictional disputes, enforcement against foreign assets, financial claims in England after a foreign divorce and international children cases.

Daniel chairs the International Committee of Resolution (the national organisation of family lawyers), and as a member of Lord Justice Moylan’s International Family Law Committee.

He was the only solicitor to give evidence to the Justice Select Committee on the how the UK’s departure from the EU will affect family law and is now advising the government on this subject. Daniel has joined Michelmores from national law Clarke Willmott, where he spent 14 years as a partner in its family law team. Prior to that he worked for London firms Dawsons and Barnett Sampson.

Daniel said: “Joining Michelmores and the firm’s highly regarded family team is an exciting step for my practice.

“I look forward to being at the heart of Michelmores’ strong private wealth offering, supporting clients here in the UK, but also clients with an international footprint.”

Michelmores’ Bristol office has 20 partners and more than 50 specialist lawyers handling legal services across a range of sectors, including real estate, construction, agriculture, corporate and private wealth.
