Communications agency McCann Bristol has created a national TV advert for Stowford Press which follows the cider’s journey from the moment the apples blossom to when it is served.

The advert, which aired for the first time this week, also features the brand’s new strapline ‘100% local home-pressed apples’ for the first time.

The ad was launched on Channel 4 and will also appear on Dave, More 4 and BT Sports where it continues until September.

Stowford Press is cidermaker Westons top-selling brand and the advert was filmed entirely at its cider mill in Much Marcle, Herefordshire, and the surrounding orchards.

McCann Group creative director Jon Elsom said: “We hope viewers enjoy a much-needed 30-second break in the Herefordshire countryside as they join a Stowford Press apple on its journey from blossom to glass. No other cider ad gets you closer.”

The advert was written and managed by the agency, whose in-house media buying team Universal McCann (UM) Bristol planned a £1.5m media campaign.

McCann Bristol’s client roster includes Cathay Pacific, Oasis Dental Care, Haynes Manuals, Coregeo, Essilor UK, Yeo Valley and the Royal Mint.

The agency, which has grown strongly over the past few years, is part of McCann Worldgroup – the world’s largest advertising and communications network.
