The private equity team at national law firm Foot Anstey, which has an office in Bristol, has supported fast-growing UK cyber security group Kocho on its latest acquisition.

Foot Anstey’s lawyers advised Kocho Group Holdings on the legalities of its takeover of award-winning manager service provider Mobliciti, including the refinancing of its current facilities with Santander.

London-based Kocho Group was launched in April following the amalgamation of TiG Data Intelligence and cyber security specialist ThirdSpace.

A Microsoft Gold Partner for security, its customers span mid-market organisations up to large enterprises, operating in the financial services, health, manufacturing and professional services sectors, including Bupa, AVIVA and Liontrust Asset Management.

Surrey-based Mobliciti specialises in enterprise mobility, security and wireless connectivity solutions. Founded in 2009, it has established itself as an expert in delivering secure enterprise mobility services to some of the country’s most highly regulated businesses.

It has a strong specialism in the legal sector, counting four of the five magic circle and 20 out of the top 50 UK law firms as clients.

The Foot Anstey team advising on the deal included partners Adam McKenna and Katie-Jane Rees, associate Emma Robinson and solicitor Caitlin Shasby.

Adam said: “Kocho’s acquisition was a cross-firm effort as it required specific expertise from different teams including banking, employment, commercial and real estate.

“We were thrilled to have been instructed to support Kocho on its acquisition and enable the team to take the next step of the business’ growth strategy.”

Other advisors involved in the deal included international law firm Gowlings, which provided legal support to Santander, and Guildford-based lawyers Stevens & Bolton, which worked with Mobliciti.

Foot Anstey, which also has offices in Exeter, London, Plymouth, Southampton, Taunton and Truro, operates in six key sectors – development, energy & infrastructure, private equity, private wealth and retail & consumer and Islamic finance.
