The Bristol 10k and Bristol Half Marathon will be televised live once again this year by Made in Bristol as part of the TV channels partnership with the Great Run Company.

Five runners will be featured for each event, airing self-shot video diaries on the channel within its new live magazine format The Crunch, which is screened Monday to Friday from 6pm to 8pm.

Viewers will be able to apply to be one of the featured runners and the TV channel will screen promotional features across Made Television channels Made in Bristol and Made in Cardiff to encourage applications for auditions.

Marketing director of the Great Run Company, Lorraine Fraser, said: Made Television provides us with a unique opportunity to engage with our target demographic within an environment that reflects their interests and passions. We are delighted to be working with the Made in Bristol team for the second year running.

The 2017 agreement includes an on-air competition for viewers to win a post-run battery reboot with a two-night stay at the Eynsham Hall Hotel, Oxfordshire. The competition is open between February 18 and April 24 and will be promoted on Made in Bristol in four promotional spots each day.

Made in Bristol director of commercial content David Emin said: We are thrilled to be working with The Great Run Company for the second consecutive year. It has enabled us to fine-tune our partnership and provide a cross promotional campaign that reflects the energy, passion and camaraderie of each event whilst also enabling us to engage directly with our viewers.

The Bristol 10k takes place on Sunday, May 7, and the Bristol Half Marathon on Sunday, September 17.
