The University of Bristol has sold the freehold of a 1.2-acre site on Warren Lane, Long Ashton, to luxury retirement home specialists Blue Cedar Homes for a development of 12 cottages.

The site was part of the university’s agricultural research station, which closed in 2003, and was subsequently sold for residential redevelopment in 2004.

Property consultants Alder King acted on behalf of the university. The firm also represented it in the disposal of the former research station and continues to advise the university on its additional land and property holdings.

The scheme will be Exeter-based Blue Cedar’s fifth in the South West. Construction work is underway with completion scheduled for next spring.
