London calling for fast-growing Bristol law firm Temple Bright

Temple Bright, the innovative and fast-growing Bristol law practice, has opened a base in London’s ‘silicon roundabout’ technology cluster in a move that underpins its position as a leading player in the creative and tech sectors.

The boutique firm shares the new office in Shoreditch with the kind of businesses it has gained a reputation for serving since it opened in Bristol three years ago.

The office has been launched with three City-trained lawyers.  Commercial contracts specialist Sam Elworthy joins from Travers Smith and will be accompanied by Doug Masson, a construction lawyer who recently moved to Temple Bright from SNR Denton.

The pair will be supported by the firm’s co-founder Tim Summers, who is experienced in corporate and commercial law and worked at Simmons & Simmons in London and Burges Salmon in Bristol before the launch of Temple Bright.

Tim said: “We have a very strong Bristol team that covers all the main areas for commercial clients.

“This means we can enter London with three people, exactly as we began in Bristol – but this time offering a full service from day one and with a proven track record. We think this seed in the capital should lead to growth such as we’ve seen in Bristol. The aim is to grow two thriving centres which complement one another so that all our clients and lawyers benefit.”

Co-founder Justyn McIlhinney added: “Opening our new office in the Old Street area is the perfect next step for Temple Bright. It’s an ideal spot for finding and serving new clients and it will help us to support our existing clients too.”

He said the location would make it attractive to the many senior commercial lawyers in London who are looking for an alternative way to offer their services and work with clients.  “We know from the attention we are getting already that there will be lots of interest in our chambers practice model,” he said.  “Our new home in these fantastic offices in this exciting part of town will only add to the buzz.”
