A new project designed to inform people aged 55 and over plan for a happy, healthy and fulfilling retirement has been launched in Bristol.

Called The Post-Retirement Opportunities (PRO) Project and run by LinkAge Network, it aims to inform people approaching retirement on the opportunities and advice available to them.

The project is funded by the Bristol and District Retirement Council and is being delivered in collaboration with the Anchor Society, the Bristol-based elderly care charity, and Business in the Community.

The project launch next Wednesday, July 25, at the Watershed media centre on Harbourside will be the first in a series of events designed to showcase the wide range of volunteering programmes, career and financial advice, learning and training opportunities, and active, cultural and social activities on offer in and around Bristol.

The events will feature guest speakers, workshops and taster sessions, and representatives from a range of organisations on hand to provide information and advice as well as free drinks and nibbles.

The launch event is free and open to anyone aged 55-plus who is interested in learning more about the opportunities and advice available, and/or looking to meet other people at a similar stage in life.
