Bristol’s largest law firms are lining up against the cream of the legal sector next week in the coveted Legal Business Awards 2015.

Bristol-headquartered Osborne Clarke is challenging five firms for the title of Law Firm of the Year while it is also on the seven-strong shortlist for the Corporate Team of the Year award.

Osborne Clarke’s former managing partner Simon Beswick, who stepped down from the role in January, is in the running for the Management Partner of the Year award against four other senior lawyers. Mr Beswick is now CEO of Osborne Clarke International.

Rival Bristol-headquartered firm TLT is competing against national firms Bond Dickinson and DWF, both with offices in Bristol, and expanding Bristol and West Country firm Foot Anstey in the National/Regional Firm of the Year category.

Burges Salmon, which also has its headquarters in Bristol, is challenging six firms for the Private Client Team of the Year accolade.

Simmons & Simmons, which has an office in Bristol, is among seven firms competing for the Finance Team of the Year and TMT Team of the Year awards and will also line up against DAC Beachcroft, which also has an office in Bristol, among the six finalists in the Insurance Team of the Year category.

CMS Cameron McKenna, another firm with a base in Bristol, is lined up against DWF and four other firms for the Legal Innovator of the Year trophy.

The Legal Business Awards, now in their 18th year, recognise outstanding work from across the legal profession and acknowledge the accomplishments of the finest lawyers working in the UK and beyond.

Hosted by Legal Business magazine, they are viewed by the industry’s leading lawyers as the most prestigious and highly-respected awards on the legal calendar.

The awards will take place on Tuesday March 24 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London with Jeremy Paxman as the host.
