Law firm TLT is looking to recruit two legal apprentices to join its 250-strong banking and lender services group in Bristol as part of a new apprenticeship programme run in partnership with specialist providers ILEX Tutorial College (ITC) and Damar Training.

Starting in January 2013, the apprentices will receive extensive in-house training as well as tailored assessment and training from Damar and ITC. They will complete an intermediate apprenticeship in legal administration giving them the legal and administrative skills required to put their knowledge into practice.

In addition to their wide-ranging administrative duties the apprentices will provide support to solicitors and case handlers giving them plenty of hands-on legal experience including responding to client queries and helping to prepare legal documents, all with plenty of support and under supervision from senior staff.

Following completion of the 12-month programme, there may be opportunities to progress to higher level apprenticeships and, in due course, to routes that lead to qualification as a chartered legal executive or solicitor.

TLT partner Graham Walters, who heads the lender services team, said: “Our new apprenticeship scheme offers a structured career development opportunity and is ideal for talented and ambitious individuals who may have decided not go to university because of the cost or who simply prefer the idea of vocational learning.”
