David Stedman, a solicitor advocate in the Bristol office of law firm Clarke Willmott, has been named in a prestigious national guide which covers the top 500 private client advisers and wealth managers in the UK.

David, pictured, specialises in commercial and private client litigation with a particular focus on the classic car sector.

He has been ranked as one of only four of the top recommended lawyers for classic car legal services by The Spear’s 500 – the highly-regarded guide to the sharpest and most experienced advisers, wealth managers and lawyers around today.

David said: “I’m delighted to be named on this prestigious guide and I’m pleased that my work in the sector has been recognised.

“Classic car cases are among my favourite to work on and I am often instructed by high net worth individuals, leading restorers and collectors on cases involving negligence, misrepresentation and breach of contract.

“You need a general understanding of the cars and how they work because your clients want to know you understand what you are talking about. In court, too, the judge generally isn’t an expert, so the more knowledge you can assist him with, the more chance he’ll understand your client’s case.

“In the past, I’ve worked for a niche litigation firm, which had a strong reputation for acting in classic car disputes but the benefit of working for a larger firm like Clarke Willmott is that we have a robust private client team experienced in working on all aspects of the law.”

Clarke Willmott also has offices in Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton and Taunton.
