Bristol-based law firm Gregg Latchams has launched a new portfolio of services aimed focused on renewable energy, clean technology – and those having to cope with regulations governing carbon reduction and environmental pollution.

The firm will also offer individually tailored advice to Green Law clients on matters such as contracts and commercial agreements, intellectual property-based arrangements, funding, project management, security arrangements and health and safety compliance.

Partner Paul Hardman will lead the team with associates Iain McColl and Michael Gupwell and solicitor Philip Brown. They have all advised on green legal matters – previous projects have ranged from advising a major NHS trust on a combined heat and power scheme for a hospital to acting for a company which develops electric cars and buses.

Gregg Latchams has also initiated the Queen Square Low Carbon initiative, which aims to reduce carbon emissions in the historic Queen Square area of Bristol. The firm has also signed up to the West of England Carbon Challenge, which aims to achieve a 10% reduction in emissions by 2012.
