Housing developer Lovell has appointed Richard Williams as land manager to drive its ambitious growth strategy for its residential developments portfolio across the South West.

Richard, pictured, brings wide-ranging knowledge of the regional property market to his new role. His 17-year career has included working as a property consultant for South West property specialist Alder King and joins Lovell from retirement housing developer Exeter-based Blue Cedar Homes, where he held the position of land manager in its Bristol office.

Richard, who is based in Lovell’s Bristol office, will be responsible for identifying and acquiring housing development sites across the South West for the firm.

Lovell, part of the Morgan Sindall construction and regeneration group, has a strong record in the region both as a developer of open market housing for sale and as a builder of affordable homes – including those for affordable and social rent and shared ownership – in partnership with housing associations and local authorities.

Lovell regional managing director Kate Rees said: “Richard will take the lead on identifying land opportunities for us locally as we look to increase our portfolio of residential developments.

“We’re very pleased to have attracted someone with his extensive regional knowledge and wealth of sector experience to support the significant expansion of our business in the South West.”

Richard, a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, added: “I’m excited to be joining a company with such a respected record in residential construction and delighted to be helping take forward Lovell’s plans to grow its business in the region.”
