Senior associates at regional law firm Michelmores Paul Beanland and Tom Stenner-Evans have been promoted to partner.

Paul, who works in its real estate team, joined Michelmores in March 2015 and relocated to Bristol in October 2017. He now works between the firm’s Bristol and London offices and acts for a broad range of clients, including institutional funds, developers, private investors and corporate tenants.

He has extensive experience of all aspects of commercial property work, with a particular focus on acquisitions and disposals of investment properties, commercial and mixed-use development projects, pre-lets and landlord and tenant work.

Tom, who is in the employment team, has worked at Michelmores since 2007 and qualified in 2009. He specialises in employment law and divides his time between the its Exeter and London offices.

He is experienced in a range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters and has particular expertise in acting for local authorities and schools. He has represented clients in both the Employment Tribunal and County Court and is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

Michelmores senior partner Andrew Oldland said: “We are very pleased to announce these senior promotions and the consequent growth of two very credible teams within the business. Paul and Tom have a great depth of knowledge within their sectors and many years of experience.

“The extended breadth they will now have within the real estate and employment teams is a fundamental next step for the growth of our offering and of the firm.”

Tim Richards officially took over the role of managing partner at the firm this week from Malcolm Dickinson. Tim has headed the commercial dispute resolution team for 15 years and also chairs the executive board. His appointment was announced in January.

Tim said: “The current economic and regulatory environments continue to present UK and international businesses with opportunities and challenges in areas on which Michelmores is ideally placed to advise. I look forward to working with my colleagues and our clients to continue to deliver an outstanding service, while providing an environment where our people can flourish.”

Michelmores has 68 partners, a further 130 lawyers and a total complement of over 460 staff across its offices in London, Exeter and Bristol, which it opened in 2012.
