Bristol commercial law firm Meade King has strengthened its insolvency team with the appointment of experienced solicitor Lisa Cooke.

Lisa, pictured, joins Meade King from national firm Clarke Willmott’s Bristol office where she was an associate solicitor specialising in insolvency litigation on behalf of liquidators and trustees in bankruptcy.

Prior to this, Lisa was a solicitor at Bond Dickinson in Plymouth specialising in regulatory and commercial litigation work.

Her work at Meade King will focus on advising individuals and company directors facing insolvency, as well as insolvency practitioners.

The firm’s team of insolvency and debt lawyers offer a full range of support including advice on asset recovery, liquidations, receiverships, administrations, voluntary arrangements and bankruptcy.

Meade King partner Keith Mahoney, who heads the insolvency, employment and dispute resolution department, said: “Lisa has considerable experience in insolvency litigation and advising those facing financial difficulties. She will be a great asset to the team.

“Lisa will be working closely with insolvency practitioners and with companies and individuals facing insolvency and working hard to achieve the best possible outcomes.”

Single-office firm Meade King’s lawyers have particular expertise in areas such as commercial property, business sales and acquisitions, construction contracts, dispute resolution and employment law.

The firm also advises a wide range of commercial organisations including care homes, pharmacies, GP surgeries and technology businesses and is nationally recognised for the high quality commercial and regulatory advice it provides to dentists and other healthcare providers.
