There may still be just under 300 days until Christmas but Bristol-based event Hype Agency is already working on its plans for its annual festive party – one of the largest and best-attended in the region.

Every year Hype transforms Brunel’s Passenger Shed at Temple Meads into a magical Christmas party venue – and despite it still only being the first day of spring, preparations for this year’s event are well underway.

The events have become very popular among businesses with a repeat booking rate of 90%.

Last Christmas the theme was The Great Gatsby and thousands of guests were transported into a 1920s underground speakeasy for a lavish night of debauchery with no baubles or tinsel in sight. The

This year will be a return to tradition with the theme of A Nutcracker Christmas. The venue will be transformed into a Christmas Wonderland with twinkling fairy lights, red-and-white candy canes and giant Christmas presents coming to life and where toy soldiers and the sugar plum fairy will take guests on a magical journey.

The evening’s entertainment will once again feature The Invisible Circus, due to popular demand, and a 35ft helter skelter will be built inside the venue.

Hype managing director Vicky Fraser said: “Our ethos is that every production must be of premium quality, with not a penny spared on the theme to ensure we create something really special. This approach really makes us stand out.

“This year we’ve decided to return to a traditional Christmas theme and the office is already full of red-and-white candy canes. We have Christmas on our minds 365 days a year which is a pretty unique way to work and may seem incredibly annoying to some but it really is rewarding to see something you’ve created excite and enthuse so many people.”

The Great Gatsby set used in Bristol last Christmas is to be reused by Hype for its event in Cheltenham this year. The theme proved extremely popular with the highest-ever percentage of guests in fancy dress of any Hype Christmas party.

A Nutcracker Christmas at The Passenger Shed will run from November 25 to December 21 and will include a full night of entertainment from the Invisible Circus, a 35ft helter skelter, a 45ft themed bar, a 25ft themed cocktail and shot bar, sparkling wine reception, two or three course meal, and themed photobooth.
