Home truths of property investing revealed in Bristol businessman’s first book

Bristol property investor Del Brown is putting his 25 years of market knowledge and experience to use by publishing his first book.

Making Money From Property Bristol Fashion includes tips on how to succeed in the property market despite the economic climate, along with advice on pitfalls to avoid.

Del, pictured, the 48-year-old managing director of DB Properties and Property Options, bought his first property 25 years ago for £13,000. He owns 150 properties with his most purchase costing for £1.7m.

Having launched three of his businesses – Liv ‘N’ Let Ltd, Let’s Rent and Social Solutions – during the recession he knows about how to be successful against the economic odds.

Del said: “With all the experience gained over the years I reached the stage whereby I felt wanted to give something back.

“I have been approached so many times about giving talks and have always said that’s not something I wanted to do.

“But last year I decided it would be good to capture all my thoughts in a book to help inspire young investors and those who want to get into the property market.

“I had been thinking about it for years but I actually went for it last October.”

The book, which took Del six months to write, is full of tips rather than being an in depth process of how to buy properties.

“There are lots of ways people can get into the property business and this should help people to follow in my footsteps,” added Del, who also runs mentoring and coaching courses.

He says he now has the writing bug and hopes this is the first in a string of books – the next being a strategic book for the more serious investor.
