Historic Bristol conference venue meets the gold standard after positive feedback from users

Engineers’ House, the Grade II listed conference centre on Clifton Down, has received accreditation in a prestigious national scheme – one of only 29 venues out of 360 assessed nationwide to receive the accolade.

The BDRC Continental VenueVerdict Gold Standard Accreditation is the only scheme of its kind determined entirely by venue customers.

Some 22,200 individual pieces of feedback were taken into account before VenueVerdict arrived at their list of top venues for the first quarter of 2014.

Engineers’ House,  pictured, is part of EEF Venues, whose two other venues – Broadway House in Westminster and Woodland Grange in Warwickshire – also achieved gold status.

Engineers’ House venue manager Martyn Bowen said: “Gaining gold is the best possible endorsement of our customer standards. The timing of this couldn’t be better as we are currently preparing for our 11th annual summer networking event – a high point in the South West’s events calendar.”

The event, from 6pm until 8pm on July 8, will include food, networking opportunities, an exhibition from some of Bristol and the West’s finest organisations, as well as a jazz band and open-top bus tours of the nearby Avon Gorge and Clifton Downs.

Some 50 local and national businesses will exhibit products and services. Guest speaker is Karen Meager, from Monkey Puzzle Training & Consultancy, who will offer advice on personal development.

Places are limited to 300. Anyone interested should contact Engineers’ House on 0117 906 4800.

Built in 1831 and designed by leading Bristol architect Charles Dyer, Engineers’ House was the private home of the Pinney family between 1835 and 1867.
