Bristol-based mutual, National Friendly is celebrating its recognition as ‘One to Watch’ in the prestigious Best Companies accreditation.

Awarded to organisations that demonstrate high levels of employee engagement, accreditation is only granted after a rigorous Michelin-style star rating process is undertaken which uses staff feedback to determine what rating a company will achieve.

National Friendly CEO, Richard Sear, comments: “We are thrilled to have received Best Companies accreditation. National Friendly has begun a journey of transformation and to achieve our vision of creating a modern mutual for the 21st Century, we need to excel in every area of the business, and most importantly, recognise the importance of our key assets, our employees.

“We are delighted by the accreditation as it shows that, although there are areas we can improve on, we are certainly heading in the right direction. While it will be a tough challenge, we are committed to becoming a Best Company to Work For next year, and to ensuring that National Friendly is a great place for all our valued staff to work.”

Every year Best Companies and The Sunday Times celebrate the best workplaces in the UK. Employees from participating companies complete surveys to produce a Best Companies Index Score based on rigorous methodology, to produce a company’s star rating.
