National energy consultancy Octego has appointed Roy Bidder as head of operations, based in its Nailsea office.

Roy, pictured, who has a background in sustainability consulting and financial services, will be responsible for overseeing operations and will work with the firm’s wider management team to implement a new organisational structure.

This will ensure that Octego, which has its headquarters in Blackpool and an office in London, continues to deliver a quality service to its customers and provide new opportunities for growth in the future.

Roy joins Octego from SustainIt, a CSR and sustainability consultancy based at Bristol’s Paintworks, where he worked for more than four years.

In his last role he was responsible for driving forward the business operations as well as overseeing the delivery of projects and services and managing the workforce. Octego managing director James Wood said: “Roy has a demonstrated history of success in leading and delivering complex, cross-functional projects within the private sector.

“Attracting someone of Roy’s calibre is a great endorsement of our strategy and ambition. He brings with him a comprehensive knowledge of sustainability, which will be vital as we continue our plans to enhance the value that we offer to our clients.”

Roy added: “Octego has an excellent reputation among the industry for delivering an exceptionally high-level of customer service and quality. It is a genuine people-focused business that delivers real, cost-saving energy solutions to its clients. I’m excited to be a part of the team and I look forward to what promises to be a bright future.”
