Seven new graduates and junior staff have joined Bristol-based commercial property agency Hartnell Taylor Cook.

Four are now employed at the firm’s Bristol headquarters with three in its London office. Hartnell Taylor Cook has enjoyed a substantial increase in business over the past 24 months with growth across all sectors.

In Bristol, Hannah Batchelor has returned after completing her degree at the University of West of England (UWE), where she obtained a First in Property and Investment Management.

Hannah, below right, spent a year at Hartnell Taylor Cook as part of her sandwich year and will be joining the property and asset management team.

Beth Warren, below left, has joined from Suffolk-based agents Clarke and Simpson to join Hartnell Taylor Cook’s building consultancy team as property administrator, dealing primarily for the maritime and coastguard agency portfolio, which extends across the whole of UK including Northern Ireland.

Continuing the company’s commitment to help young people start in business, it has recruited Lizzie Boswell and Stephanie Kirkman for their sandwich year placements from their studies at UWE. Lizzie, bottom right, who is studying property and investment management, has joined the Bristol agency team while Stephanie, who is studying accountancy, has joined the accounts team

Joining the London office is Leah Cave, who arrives from the office agency team at SDL Bigwood, where she obtained experience in its commercial agency and the auction teams.

Leah obtained a degree in Business in Property from UWE and will continue to work towards her APC at Hartnell Taylor Cook.

Imah Miah joins the professional team, specialising in business rates and landlord and tenant work. Imah studied law at City University before obtaining two years’ experience with business rates specialists, CVS. She will commence her RICS Masters in Real Estate next month while continuing her role at Hartnell Taylor Cook.

William Shortridge, who graduated from UWE in Property and Investment Management, joins the property and asset management department. William completed 12-months with Sanderson Weatherall’s Bristol office in his sandwich year, working in retail agency and commercial valuation.

Hartnell Taylor Cook managing partner Stuart Howell said: “Hartnell Taylor Cook has always had a policy to recruit and develop graduates and junior staff, providing them the necessary experience to qualify and to give them a firm foundation in which to flourish.

“This policy has worked well and not only can we boast a 100% pass rate in the APC (Assessment of Professional Competence) we have a number of senior staff and partners who joined direct from university.

“I am certain the new recruits will make an invaluable contribution to the business and its future growth.”
