The chief financial officer of derivatives trading group IG is to join Bristol fund management giant Hargreaves Lansdown in the same role.

Chris Hill, pictured, who has worked at IG for four years, is expected to take up his new post at Hargreaves Lansdown next March. In the meantime Simon Cleveland, a partner at accountants Deloitte, will continue as the firm’s interim chief financial officer.

Mr Hill replaces Tracey Taylor, who had worked at Hargreaves Lansdown for 15 years and left on June 30.

Prior to joining IG, Mr Hill was employed by Travelex, General Electric and Arthur Andersen.

Hargreaves Lansdown chairman Mike Evans said: “We are delighted to welcome Chris. He has a highly relevant financial services background and will bring new skills and expertise to the board.”

Chief executive Ian Gorham added: “I am very pleased Chris is joining the team. We are very much looking forward to working with him at Hargreaves Lansdown.”

Chris Hill said: “I have always admired the Hargreaves Lansdown business and I am looking forward to this opportunity to contribute to its continued future success.”

In April the firm’s multi-millionaire co-founder Peter Hargreaves stepped down as a director with immediate effect.
