Property consultancy GVA, which has a regional office in Bristol, has been ranked as the largest supplier of services to the public sector with a 44% market share.

The figure, for 2010/11, has been released by the Government Procurement Service (formally Buying Solutions). GVA’s Bristol office provides a range of specialist property consultancy services, such as asset valuation and planning advice, to a range of local authorities, health authorities, emergency services and other bodies across the South West.

The firm described its number one position as “a remarkable achievement” as it is on a framework with eight panel members.

GVA’s regional senior director David Mace said: “Our public sector clients are a key part of our business and this recent statistic highlights our commitment to client development, partnership working and being a long term trusted advisor.”

GVA has recently achieved a number of accolades. In May the Estates Gazette ranked the firm as the top supplier to central Government departments, following research backed by the transparency agenda. It was also named as the most-favoured property advisor by public sector respondents in Acritas’ Sharp Property Brands Survey 2010 when directly compared to its peer group.
