Specialist commercial and chancery barrister Hugh Sims, from Bristol’s Guildhall Chambers, has been named as Queen’s Counsel in this year’s appointments.

His appointment brings the number of silks at Guildhall Chambers to seven. He was sworn in at Westminster Hall earlier this week.

Hugh, pictured, is a ranked in Chambers UK and the Legal 500 and was recently listed in the Chambers Bar 100 juniors list recognising the top 100 junior barristers practising at the Bar in England and Wales.

He is described in Chambers UK 2014 as “totally unstuffy” and “easy to work with, he provides practical commercial advice and doesn't get bogged down in technical legal complexities”.
