Business growth consultancy Cool Ventures has helped secure a £10m maintenance contract for client Gregor Heating, Electrical and Renewable Energy.

Yate-based Cool Ventures, which advises owner-managed businesses on their growth strategies and preparing for external investment, wrote the winning bid for Gregor to service and install gas boilers for Knightstone Housing Association.

Cool Ventures also helped the Warmley-based heating engineers, electricians and renewable energy specialist gain a £28,000 grant from the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) for an IT system to underpin the new contract.

The five-year maintenance deal with Knightstone followed a competitive re-tendering process by the regional housing provider and involved a rigorous selection process.

Gregor managing director Steve Gregor said: “When bidding for major tenders like this you are dealing with organisations that employ their own procurement teams. For us to compete at that level required specialist support.

“Cool Ventures had the professional knowledge and expertise that we needed to mount a successful bid. They exceeded our expectations and I would have no hesitation in recommending their services."”

Cool Ventures director Roger Wilkins added: “Bid writing has become a growing part of our specialist business support service and we are delighted to have helped Gregor secure this multi-million pound contract with Knightstone.”
