Xledger, the global cloud-based finance software provider with its UK headquarters in Bristol, has widened its partnership with Bristol Sport to back its approach to uniting the city through sporting achievement.

Xledger, which has more than 10,000 mid-market customers in 60-plus countries, will continue to sponsor the South Stand at Bristol Sport’s Ashton Gate Stadium – home to the Bristol Bears rugby club and Bristol City FC – for another year and, in a new agreement, will become involved with the Bristol Bears Academy.

This will include sponsoring youngsters aged 13 years upwards through the Premiership rugby club’s training programme.

As part of the package, Harry Rowson – a member of the Bears’ scholarship programme – is now undertaking an internship with Xledger as the club continues to develop its young players on and off the field.

Xledger UK CEO  Mark Pullen said: “In addition to the great brand recognition we’ve received as a result of our sponsorship of the South Stand, we really admire Bristol Sport’s approach to uniting the city through sporting achievement.

“We share Bristol Sport’s view in recognising the positive impact and powerful influence that sport has in breaking down social boundaries, between age groups and inequalities.

“Xledger UK is a Bristol business employing people who live and work in the region and we understand the value that the Bristol Bears Academy brings to young people as individuals, which extends far beyond the game of rugby.”

Bristol Sport commercial sales executive Emily Joyce added: “Xledger share our vision for success and understand the importance of the local community and the role sport can play.

“2020 has been extremely challenging for sport of all kinds all over the world so it is with great pleasure that we announce not only the renewal of the sponsorship of the South Stand but expand Xledger’s agreement to the benefit of the Bristol Bears Academy. Watch this space for further developments in the coming months.”

Bristol Bears senior academy manager Gethin Watts described the support from Xledger as brilliant.

“It’s not just a commercial agreement, it’s a genuine partnership where the company are helping to develop our young players through their internship programme and are truly bought into the values of the Academy,” he said.

Xledger works with medium-sized businesses to streamline, digitise and automate their finances through its 100%-cloud packages that help them reduce cost, run a leaner more efficient finance department and understand key financials in real time.
