Bristol and London law firm GL Law has appointed three new team members as it continues to develop and grow its services for businesses and individuals.

Associate solicitor Ed Jaffa has joined the corporate & commercial team  and paralegal Lloyd Perry has become a member of the private client team while solicitor Emma Burnett will take up a role in the residential property team later this month.

Ed is a commercial specialist and well-known for his technical knowledge, dynamic approach and ability to resolve issues with ease.

Joining from the Bristol office of national law firm Foot Anstey – where he spent nearly five-and-a-half years – Ed is skilled in all aspects of commercial law and has valuable experience of assisting in-house legal teams across a range of sectors.

He will lead on commercial work and deliver both tactical and strategic advice to our clients helping them solve problems and avoid future risk.

GL Law director Paul Hardman, who heads the corporate & commercial team, said: “I am delighted to welcome Ed to the team.

“His knowledge and experience of working with ambitious, growing, owner-managed SMEs perfectly complement the services we offer and will support our plans for growth during 2022.”

Lloyd, who previously worked at retirement specialists Age Partnership in emerging products, will assist the private client team with Lasting Powers of Attorney, Wills and Probate matters.

He completed the LLM (Master of Laws) in 2019 and has since specialised in helping people understand and put in place important future planning tools, particularly over-50s who are considering their path to retirement and beyond.

GL Law director and head of its private client & long-term care team, Heledd Wyn, said: “Lloyd is already proving to be an asset to the team with his calm and methodical approach.

“We work hard to ensure our clients receive the best possible level of service and Lloyd’s people skills are second to none.”

The firm has also strengthened its operations team with the recruitment of marketing & business development assistant Evie Housham and IT support & training assistant Muna Nuur.

GL Law, which rebranded from its previous name of Gregg Latcham in 2020, is one of the UK’s oldest surviving legal practices with roots going back 325 years.

It employs around 65 people in Bristol’s Queen Square and its London office advising individuals and businesses in sectors ranging from creative, media and tech to food and drink and property.
