National specialist business advisory firm FRP has appointed Jonathan Dunn as a director in its Bristol restructuring team.

Jonathan joins the 11-strong team, led by partner Andrew Sheridan, from accountancy group BDO in Bristol, where he was an associate director.

FRP said he brought more than 15 years’ experience along with a breadth of expertise having spent his career supporting distressed businesses and their stakeholders to provide early and actionable advice.

Since relocating to Bristol from London in 2011 Jonathan has specialised in support for mid-market and owner-managed businesses across the South West.

This has included a broad range of advisory assignments such as targeted independent business reviews and accelerated sale processes as well as formal insolvency assignments including trading and pre-pack administrations, company voluntary arrangements and liquidations.

Jonathan’s earlier career included several restructuring assignments that involved multinational deals for a number of financial institutions in London.

He said: “I’m looking forward to working alongside the team in Bristol to support our clients in the South West as they navigate the uncertain political landscape ahead.

“FRP Advisory has a great reputation for being a progressive firm that works closely with its clients and commits to delivering the best results for all parties.”

FRP Advisory Bristol restructuring partner Andrew Sheridan added: “The current business landscape can be fluid and complex, which is why we strive to continually improve and strengthen our capability to be an advisory firm of choice be that in restructuring, debt advisory or corporate finance.

“Jonathan has built a strong reputation in the South West having supported many of the region’s SMEs and owner-managed businesses on a broad range of assignments.

“He is also able to lead both advisory assignments and formal insolvencies, further strengthening the breadth and depth of our offer in the region.”

FRP Advisory now employs more than 350 people across 19 locations, including Bristol, making it one of the UK’s largest independent business advisory firms specialising in corporate restructuring, corporate finance, forensics, pensions advisory and debt advisory.
