Specialist PR firm Copper Consultancy has continued to grow its team in Bristol with two senior appointments.

James Gore has joined as an account director after 13 years at Bristol Airport, most recently as head of government and stakeholder relations.

James brings a wealth of experience in stakeholder engagement and crisis management to the Copper team, with particular expertise in local, regional and national government relations.

Meanwhile, Diana Deans has been appointed as a senior account manager. Diana has more than 10 years’ experience in corporate communications and stakeholder engagement.

She also joins from Bristol Airport, where she has spent the past 10 months as a consultation and engagement executive.

She has high-level expertise in delivering internal and external communication campaigns and has proven experience in building the reputation of large organisations, having held key roles at Horizon Nuclear Power and npower as well as Bristol Airport.

Copper, which also has offices in London and Birmingham, specialises in infrastructure communications and engagement, working with clients in the property, development and infrastructure sectors.

It says it thrives on “communicating complex and challenging issues in innovative, creative and considered ways”.

Copper’s clients include Bristol Airport, Crossrail, Highways England, National Grid, Scottish Power and RWE.

James, who has also worked for RBS Insurance and Grayling Public Relations, said: “I’m hugely excited to join Copper and start working across their portfolio of major projects. With the government’s planned investment into an infrastructure revolution, this is a time of unprecedented development for the sector.

“Working at Copper represents a great opportunity to use my experience in government and stakeholder relations and knowledge of the aviation sector to help deliver successful campaigns for both clients and communities throughout the UK.”

Diana added: “It’s fantastic to be working at Copper. It’s a company that excels at involving the community in projects and delivering industry leading stakeholder relations. I’m excited to work alongside key organisations to implement comprehensive communication campaigns, ensuring that communities are engaged in infrastructure and development projects and helping contribute to the growth of the sector.”

Copper managing partner Ben Heatley said both James and Diana had an exceptional depth of industry knowledge and expertise and brought invaluable experience in communications and engagement to the team.

“They are both great additions to our expanding team and will play a crucial role in continuing Copper’s success as a leading consultancy in the sector,” he added.
