Fast-growing Bristol-headquartered fulfilment tech provider Huboo has appointed Paul Bennett as chief marketing officer to strengthen its brand profile and support its global roll out plans.

Paul, pictured, is devising marketing strategies for four further international markets this year while aligning its brand messaging across all its territories.

Huboo has grown rapidly since its launch in 2017 with just two employees, and now employs more than 650 people across its five sites in Bristol along with operations in the Netherlands and Spain as well as a recently opened warehouse in Leipzig, Germany.

Last week it announced plans to take on a further 400-plus workers at a new 106,000 sq ft warehouse at junction 17 of the M4 near Chippenham.

Reporting directly to CEO Martin Bysh, Paul will be predominantly based at the Huboo’s Corn Street headquarters as well as in Europe.

In his previous role at the AXA Insurance Group, where he worked for 25 years including as its global brand director, he led the insurance provider to become the number one insurance brand for 10 consecutive years and more than doubled the value of the AXA brand to $12bn (£9.5bn).

At Huboo, which has secured over £100m of investment and grown its team by 133% in the past 12 months alone, he will draw on his expertise in global brand growth initiatives to lead the firm’s 25-strong marketing and partnerships team in creating and implementing a new brand positioning strategy.

This will include a universal brand vision and measure marketing performance at a campaign and channel level.

Working with the marketing team, he will also design and implement successful digital marketing campaigns to drive sales while overseeing performance and marketing channels that deliver growth.

Paul: “The opportunity to work with such an exciting, innovative and ambitious company doesn’t come along very often, so when I heard about Huboo and everything it’s achieved so far, it was the ideal opportunity.

“The business is truly exceptional and I’m really looking forward to helping steer it to the next level.”

Martin Bysh added: “We’re delighted to have welcomed Paul to align the marketing strategy across all of our existing and targeted European markets.

“Building a team with the right people is central to our success and Paul’s experience couldn’t be a better fit. He’s the perfect person to help us reach our ambitious targets and take Huboo to the next level and has already made an impressive mark on the business.”

Huboo’s rapid growth has been based on its intuitive ‘microhub’ technology, which allows online retailers of all sizes to use its complete fulfilment operation within minutes.

The firm also harnesses innovative software to make its warehouses smarter, more productive and human centric.

Each ‘hub’ replicates the inputs, processes and outputs of a complete warehouse within a few hundred square feet, with Huboo’s management software keeping tabs on every item throughout the fulfilment process.
