A team from national law firm Foot Anstey’s Bristol office has been appointed by a developer of battery energy storage and other renewable energy projects as a key partner to provide it with expert legal advice and help it progress its pipeline of work.
New Energy Partnership’s (NEP) stated mission is to use its all-equity investment commitment to develop more than 2GW of operational battery storage projects across the UK. 
The Warrington-based company is led by renewable energy expert Andrew Dodge, supported by a highly successful and innovative team that has helped deliver some of the largest renewable energy projects in the UK, Europe and North America.
The Foot Anstey energy & infrastructure team supporting NEP will include partners Ian Stubbs and Chris Pritchett, managing associate Kutahya Cherry, managing associate Suriya Edwards and senior associate Aliki Zeri.

The Foot Anstey team has been at the vanguard of energy storage development in the UK, from early Enhanced Frequency Response projects that gave stimulus to the UK’s energy storage market, through Fixed Frequency Response and capacity market projects to working on a vastly expanded pipeline of utility scale battery sites.
As well as project development, the team handles contracts for construction and operation of assets, funding arrangements and corporate transactions for ready-to-build projects, asset co-location and the very latest optimisation solutions to maximise asset owners’ revenue.
Last month Foot Anstey was appointed by European renewable energy provider Econergy International to support its first UK battery storage project.
Israel-headquartered Econergy operates in five countries with a number of storage installations. It also currently manages 194 projects in solar and wind development.
It entered the UK market in January when it acquired Swangate Energy Storage, a 50MW (100MWh) storage project in Yorkshire, from London-based renewables firm Yoo Energy.
Foot Anstey, which also has offices in London, Plymouth, Taunton, Southampton, Exeter and Truro, is one of the UK’s fastest-growing law firms.
