National law firm Foot Anstey has promoted three lawyers to the firm’s partnership, including Mark Greatholder who leads the firm’s commercial energy practice from its Bristol office.

Taking effect from 1 May, the promotions will bring the total number of partners at the firm to 66.

Joining the partnership along with Mark are Anna Phillips, who leads the firm’s charity property practice from her base in its Exeter office, and Lara Borrett-Lynch, head of affordable housing, based in Southampton.

Mark, pictured, who joined Foot Anstey 10 years ago from the Bristol head office of Burges Salmon, leads the firm’s commercial energy practice within its wider energy, projects, infrastructure and construction team.

He specialises in advising on the legal aspects of delivering commercial projects for clients, with particular expertise on clean energy.

His proficiency extends to solar and wind – on-shore and off-shore – district heat networks, battery storage projects, nuclear development including new nuclear build and small modular reactors, electric vehicles, energy from waste, carbon capture, geothermal energy and green hydrogen.

Anna, pictured right, leads the firm’s charity property practice, which advises charities, social enterprises, registered providers and healthcare organisations in solving property related problems.

She is passionate about the not-for-profit sector and is driven by making a positive difference to the organisations she represents.

Lara, pictured below, has more than 20 years’ experience in residential development acting for housing associations, national and regional housebuilders and local authorities.

Her key area of interest is the provision of affordable housing and she’s passionate about working with clients to satisfy the ever-increasing need for quality housing.

Foot Anstey managing partner Martin Hirst said it was privilege to announce the round of partner promotions after what he described as an exciting and rewarding year for the firm.

“Congratulations to Anna, Lara and Mark. Each of these individuals has demonstrated exceptional dedication and leadership within their respective practice areas and sectors.

“Their promotions recognise their hard work and alignment with the firm’s ambitious growth strategy which places emphasis on high performance, collaboration and our refreshingly human culture.”

He said the appointments also highlighted the firm’s commitment to supporting internal talent and rewarding those who were playing a key part in helping drive it forwards, strengthening its focus on its key sectors.

“Our leaders and future leaders all have a pivotal role to play in shaping the future of our firm; driving innovation, and delivering exceptional client service all with a responsible business focus,” he added.

“I have no doubt we will continue to thrive and provide the exceptional service our clients have come to expect with every matter.”

Foot Anstey, which also has offices in London, Plymouth, Taunton and Truro, works with leading brands and individuals predominantly across six key sectors – developers, energy & infrastructure, Islamic finance, private equity, private wealth, retail & consumer.
